Hello Wildcat Fans!
I am so excited about the 2020-2021 school year and being the principal at Canadian Middle School!! The success that CISD has in all aspects of education is second to none. I am so proud to be a part of a community with so many rich traditions and values.
I have been in education for 20 years. My first 7 years, I spent as a social studies teacher and coach at 3 middle schools across Texas. The experience that I gained over the years was invaluable. Because of the many great mentors I had along the way, I felt a calling into school administration. I was privileged to spend my first 5 years as an assistant principal at Palo Duro High School in Amarillo. It was here that I learned the value of building relationships and firmly believe that this is the key foundation of any successful school system. The relationships that I built at P.D. still have a profound effect on who I am as a teacher, mentor, and leader. After Palo Duro, I became the associate principal at Tascosa High School for 6 years. I had the honor of serving under Dr. Pulliam. Under his leadership, we were able to make Tascosa the premiere high school in Amarillo. At the time, it was recognized as one of the top 1,000 high schools in the nation based on the advanced placement classes that were offered. Two years ago, I continued to learn and grow from the positive influence of Dr. Pulliam and Mr. Bryant as the assistant principal of the high school and middle school campuses. At CMS I look forward to using my newly established relationships to help support the community, parents, and students that make CISD one of the best districts in the state. I cannot wait to work with you this year to provide your student an amazing educational experience. I believe in providing a safe learning environment for your child that embraces their social and emotional needs as well as their academic successes. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to give me a call. After all, no significant school year can occur without a significant relationship!
