Hello Wildcat Fans!
I am so excited about the 2019-2020 school year and being selected as the new principal at Canadian Middle School!! After having been the assistant principal here last year, I have learned what it means to be a true Wildcat! The success that CISD has in all aspects of education is second to none. I am so proud to be a part of a community with so many rich traditions and values.
I have been in education for 19 years. My first 7 years I spent as a social studies teacher and coach at 3 middle schools across Texas. The experience that I gained over the years was invaluable and because of the many great mentors I had along the way I felt led into administration. I was privileged to spend my first 5 years as an assistant principal at Palo Duro High School in Amarillo. It was here that I learned the value of building relationships and firmly believe that this is the key for all schools to become successful. The relationships that I built at P.D. still have a profound affect on who I am as a teacher, mentor, and leader. After Palo Duro, I became the associate principal at Tascosa High School for 6 years. I had the honor of serving under Dr. Pulliam who was the principal at the time. Under his leadership, we were able to make Tascosa the premire high school in Amarillo. At the time, it was recognized as one of the top 1,000 high schools in the nation based on the advanced placement classes that were offered. Last year, I continued to learn and grow from the positive influence of Dr. Pulliam and Mr. Bryant as the assistant principal of the high school and middle school campuses. Canadian has offered our family so much love and support as we have embraced the culture of the small town. I am looking forward to continuing to build relationships and grow within the Canaidian community.
The staff at CMS is very passionate about students. I cannot wait to work with you this year to provide your student an amazing educational expirence. I belive in providing a safe learning environment for your child that embraces their social and emotional needs as well as their academic successes. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitatie to visit with me this school year. After all, no significant school year can occur without a significant relationship!
